All great points, especially about search engine traffic. Rings especially true if you write about niche topics that occasionally make news headlines. E.g. I've written several stories about the social media platform, Parler. Everytime the platform makes the news, external views on those stories go up.

Whenever I see an unexplained spike in daily stats, I think, "Oh, Parler must be in the news again." :)
