Cult Horror Writer Kicks off ‘Fright Unseen’ Launch Pack
He’s a comic book legend and the world’s first blind feature film director
Joseph M. Monks’ been spinning tales since the 1980s, primarily in the horror genre. If you were into indie comic books in the ’80s and ’90s, you might remember Cry For Dawn, NightCry, and a plethora of other titles he created or penned. In the early 2000s, shortly after losing his sight to diabetic retinopathy, he became the world’s first blind feature film director when he brought his screenplay, The Bunker, to life.
Now, Monks returns to his roots, hunt-and-pecking the keyboard to bring us some of the most gritty tales we’ve read in a long time. The Fright Unseen Launch Pack sports five chilling stories straight out of Monks’ creative mind. With exclusive offerings via a Kickstarter campaign, horror readers can get a first-peek at digital stories and relive the terror in a printed format.
You can call this a shameless plug. But if you’re into horror — I mean seriously spine-tingling horror — check out the Launch Pack. Word has it everything is ready to go, and shipping starts as soon as the campaign ends mid-August.
