Harlan was an in-your-face, tough to digest man at times. But he wasn't wrong. I'd had many conversations with him, and as rough as he could be, he was very passionate about writers as a whole.

While I disagree one needs to be at a publishable level so young, a foundation is definitely needed. I do write articles directed at writers, but it centers around necessary processes and what editors look for. I wouldn't dream of trying to teach someone how to write, or how to make a certain amount of money. // On a side note: Medium is chock full of content NOT centered around writing.
