Harlan was an in-your-face, tough to digest man at times. But he wasn't wrong. I'd had many conversations with him, and as rough as he could be, he was very passionate about writers as a whole.
While I disagree one needs to be at a publishable level so young, a foundation is definitely needed. I do write articles directed at writers, but it centers around necessary processes and what editors look for. I wouldn't dream of trying to teach someone how to write, or how to make a certain amount of money. // On a side note: Medium is chock full of content NOT centered around writing. What you see in your recommendations is based on your activity. Search some unique terms (both on Medium and Google) and you'll find hordes of varied topics.
