I seriously want to slap creators who tell me to be flattered if my work is ripped off. One author recently told people to go ahead and steal his work - because it doesn't have his name or picture, no one will read it. ((facepalm))

Years ago I wrote an authorized guide for a shopping cart. A host that provided the cart to its customers bought one copy, and then put it in its customer's download directory. When I contacted him he just said, "Ohhh, I'll remove it." He was shocked when I told him to also send me a server log with the all the download counts. I was nice and gave him a volume discount. ((DOH!))

I have had a complete website copied. The audacity...
