I remember exactly where I was when the story unfolded, live on television, as I was sipping a cup of coffee. The first tower had just been hit. At the time, I could only imagine the torture felt as a plane flew out of control.
Then, as the broadcaster spoke, the second plane could be seen making its impact — a moment of silence as we all digested what had just happened.
No matter your political or religious beliefs, your skin color, your financial status… what happened on September 11, 2001 was nothing short of tragedy. It’s a day Americans, and much of the world, will never forget.
As we go about our daily routines, may we all take a moment to remember those most affected by the events that unfolded on that fateful day. And may those memories renew our strength and conviction to do better and be better.
