The problem with all the analogies is the vast difference wages affect small businesses in varying areas. I can think of some cities where it could work. But I know it won't work where I live, where I grew up, nor where I spent the bulk of my 20s.
The idea wage increases won't affect the price of your favorite meal at a local restaurant is absurd. Wages play a role in food pricing. So if it doesn't affect the price, either the restaurant reduces profits (which aren't as high as many people think), or they sacrifice service (which we know is paramount to staying open).
There is no perfect answer to the dilemma.
