While I do appreciate some of the upcoming changes, I seriously hope writers don't opt for that sans-serif typeface for the story. It's hard on the eyes and will play a role in "undefined reduction" of readership. I.e. readers won't be able to pinpoint why they aren't reading as much as your stuff, only that they can't. Typography matters. And the typography Medium has been using for the past year is part of what's made the platform great.
